I don’t want to paint it. I want the unfinished Timbers, in a lighter color.


Then sand them.

Sand an stain or prime and paint are the two best options.

PP here. I’ve also seen some properties where they kept the Timbers as is and painted the ceilings white and it looked great

Looking at a 1930s farmhouse with exposed wood Timbers and timbered ceiling. They are stained very dark brown. Is it possible to lighten all the woodwork without painting it?
