You never explained how it is impacting Alexandria government. Aren’t they still paying rent on their leases?

No way. Then they would have to meaningfully address the connector, which is a can the city will kick down the road forever. Spending $100M+ on a BRT is preferable.

The brand new huge NSF building is barely occupied. It's crazy to think they poured so much money into the building and surrounding area improvements.

The Mark Center building was the same. So controversial and now barely occupied. They don't mention the Victory Center over on Eisenhower Ave but that building has never had an occupant since being built.

I think it's clear that we have turned the corner and telework is going to continue to the area to be the norm. I can't foresee any more big investments into these kind of office buildings from private or government entities.
