I think he’d increase his chances by applying ED and having a compelling reason shown for why BC and its mission are the right fit for him.

Agreed (I'm the 50/50 poster above.) When we met with our son's guidance counselor in January, they said that two years ago he would have almost certainly been admitted, but that since then things have grown much more competitive and that they've seen a lot of similar kids get rejected.

For a 4.0 uw with 8 APs total, 1500 sat, boy, stem major, fine ec but not astounding. Not catholic.
