I'm a mosquito magnet. I used to be miserable all summer, but I got "the bug bite thing" which is sort of a reverse syringe, it's a cheap plastic device that you use to suck out the venom or whatever it is mosquitoes put in you when they bite. It doesn't work for every bite; but it works for most of them for me. They're cheap. Worth a try.

This is the first year I’ve been totally on the ball about emptying standing water. After every rain, I go outside and tip water out of everywhere it collects—without fail. And this has been by far my best year ever for mosquitoes. In the past, I’d have to spray myself with DEET to spend five minutes gardening. Now I’m out there at least twenty mins per day, weeding and picking tomatoes and flowers, and I’ve seen only a couple mosquitoes. I really wish people would try this before spraying!

I moved to a more urban area near major roads and now get almost no bites. Used to be in suburbs and would get eaten alive the second I walked outside.

This year actually seems far less than previous years.

I've had mosquito bites before of course, but it is never a big problem for me--I suspect I don't really attract them so don't get bites unless I'm in an area with a lot of them. Now gnats -- that is a crazy thing, I definitely attract those. They swarm my face, land in my eyes, my mouth, fly up my nose; on the same walk where I'm getting dive bombed by countless gnats in big swarms, my DH will be like "what gnats?"

Under 10. 0 now. We have traps and no standing water so the yard has been mosquito free this summer. I got the few on hikes but we also bug spray

I'm basically inside until the fall.Hate the heat, hate the mosquitos. Next year we're gonna do a bat house.
