It’s also racist. Many of my black friends were kicked out of the group for no reason.

That's how my friend found out her husband was cheating on her.

They're a catch-all. I found out that my best friend's husband was cheating on her through that site, which was painful but we'd long suspected it. Some post men who are dangerous, predatory, etc. But then others will try to blast a man who didn't take them to a suitably expensive restaurant. A vocal minority of the posters are objectively unstable and looking for ways to stalk men. And it's a bit too affirming in that you can never point out that a woman might be the cause of her own problems or you'll get hand-slapped by an admin. It's fine for a bit of vetting and confirmation, but you have to wade through a lot of women you'd never want to meet in real life to get there.

My personal opinion is that it shouldn't really be used for women to post guys they have already started dating to "check" on his reputation. Like if it is going well enough for you to keep dating him, why go looking for red flags that aren't there yet? It's probably fine if he's seeing other people, you haven't even had the exclusive convo yet!

I've no problem with women that post their cheating husbands, dudes that gave them STDs, ex BFs that were abusive, or even scary date experiences. It's hard to be a dog in the era of big data!

To the contrary, what if the guy is married, is abusive, or has a girlfriend. I would rather know this at the beginning.

I'm in a few of those for women. The one for DC and the one for Bmore area. I'm not dating, but I find them very entertaining.

My friend saw my boyfriend of 3 years on site. I joined and found several women who he had been communicating with. While it sucked, It helped me learn the truth and end relationship this spring.

Any time men start a similar group it gets shut down. I wonder why?

Yea, and have seen guys I’ve met or talked to on there. I tvink it’s useful but there are so many snitches the posts always get back to the man.

TWO friends of mine found out their husbands were cheating scum on the apps from those Facebook groups and divorced them. So sad, but I’m glad those groups exist.

I am in one for the drama. It can be entertaining.

However I think they may cause more harm than they are worth. Inevitably screenshots get shared with the subject, putting the women who shared their experience at risk for retaliation from abusive men.

I also find many many women putting men on blast with their name and face for things that are annoying but not unethical, like using the same bad pickup line on every woman, having something stupid and inappropriate in their bio, or being too forward in messages.

Does anyone used FB groups like this and find them helpful? How seriously do you take information from groups like these?
