How is AP Physics 1/2 different from Honors Physics?

That is impressive. So some years does Wheaton offer AP Physics 1, AP Physics 2 and AP Physics C? Do they only offer AP Physics C Mechanics or E&M as well?

About 50% of students get a 1 or 2.
This year 8% got a 5

Blair offers AP Physics C

I know but does any school in MCPS offer AP Physics 2?

Apparently Poolesville. It may be offered as a double period class that covers both 1 & 2. Most high schools do not offer AP Physics 2, and offer AP Physics 1 in a single period.

Interesting. I’m a physics teacher in MCPS and have not heard of AP Physics 2 in MCPS. I know that Howard County schools do offer it though

Are these physics classes all double periods?

Can you take Physics C without taking Physics 1 and 2 first?

Yes. C is for Calculus.

Physics 1 and 2 rogether cover 3 semesters of science for nonmajors but skip the deeper math. Physics C has two courses (Mechanics, E&M) that each cover one semester of regular college physics for majors including the math.

AP Physics 1 & 2 are algebra based physics classes that cover different topics in introductory physics. There are 2 AP tests.

Not in Poolesville, so can't add more than that.

Can you explain the Physics options for High School?
I see there is AP Physics 1 & 2 - is this a double period?
Is there an AP test for each, like a test for 1 and a test for 2?

For anyone at Poolesville HS, Global Ecology, what is the difference between the Physics options?
