Where were you staying that you needed to take the shuttle to the pool? It is definitely something we walked to. The tennis pavilion is really nice. My kids loved all the activities. I agree it was more expensive than we bargained for because most everything you do costs (a lot) of money. Also, it's very tired looking. We probably wouldn't return, but it was fun during our one trip there.

There is an indoor pool that you are describing. The outdoor is a shuttle ride away.

It probably looks exactly as it did in the 80s. With a little more wear.
There is a 6.5% historical tax on most things plus a resort fee plus everyone wants a tip. Just very, very overpriced and stuffy.

Agree. It’s outdated and tired. Super slow service and way overpriced for what you get.

I went there in the eighties as a kid and loved it! The pool was a beautiful indoor marbled place that was not a shuttle ride away. There were tons of things to do and an ice cream parlor! Bowling, ice skating, swimming. Horseback riding. I thought it was fabulous.

And I can’t understand the appeal apart from the interesting history of the place. There are a lot of activities but they are very pricey. Service was terrible and rooms were outdated. Food was ok, but very expensive and slow. Kids did not look to be having very much fun, and the pool was a shuttle ride away and required reservations which you could only get for a half day. At 45, I felt like a youngun! We were there for a conference but one and done for us.
