It’s essentially cheese fondue. Quite yummy.

It’s like a European cozy version of sharing a charcuterie board with friends

Sooo good! But really heavy, and usually more of a winter meal. A great way to have a long, leisurely meal with friends regardless.

We had it at a friend’s house - was fun/social but I like fondue better (I wasn’t a fan of the dippings like the jherkins and onions, although I do love both of those without being dipped in warm cheese).

I was wondering that too. I’ve seen it in Europe, and at European restaurants in the US. Didn’t realize Vermont was a hotspot for it.

Jimmy, would you like to go for a walk?

It’s like a funky Swiss cheese flavor. A bit like fondue minus the wine and garlic. It’s good.

It’s amazing! Especially with gherkins!

OMG, I love raclette. I first had it many, many years ago in Switzerland. I've sought it out since, traveling to NYC twice just to go to a restaurant that had it. It is cheese that comes in a big wheel, and it is heated to where it just melts and it is scraped of all melty and eaten with potatoes and gherkins and pickled onions. Sometimes in the US it will come with charcuterie like meats too. The cheese is kinda like a gruyere or Swiss cheese. Nutty and mild.

Which restaurant? The ones I’ve been to it wasn’t over anything. You eat with potatoes, cornichons, etc

Yes! Op here. It looks like it’ll be over potatoes. How else is it served/what’s the best you’ve tried?

I’d like to try raclette in Vermont next month. What’s it like?
