She may have been a good AP supporting a school of 500 but she can't scale to the responsibility of scaling to 40,000 students.

If Reid was a competent superintendent she would not be putting Baenig in a position where her shortcomings were exposed. But she’s in over her head.

R5 leadership is a support for bad principals, not interested in supporting families or teachers.

You’re full of crap. Clusters and regions have always been contiguous in the past. And now they will also have some regions with five pyramids (including some of the pyramids with the most students in the county) spread out all over the county and others with only three. Current FCPS leadership is clueless and incompetent, but it seems they can count on some of the local sycophants like you to make excuses for them.

I’m guessing you are someone who has had many complaints about FCPS. Why is doing things the way they have previously been done good? I’m glad to see a different approach. Despite your baseless attack, I am not a “sycophant.” I have many issues with FCPS and am eager to see more changes from Reid and hopefully less self-interested meddling from the school board.

Sure, Jan. Reid was hired because the School Board thought she shared their progressive values, not because she had any experience with a large school district like FCPS. And creating or letting her staff create unbalanced, random new regions is further evidence that she isn’t up to the task.

NP. Can you give some examples of good things she's done? I'm in her region and have been thoroughly unimpressed.

If Baenig is a good social worker why does she protect and promote illerate idiots like Copleand of Westfield? https://docs.google.com/document/d/1Np4Dvr6JmjCKgrLY4zcB-oiVxfdwAvhIESwSW773W4c/edit?usp=sharing

You’re also completely wrong when you call Marshall an “easy pyramid” - it’s in a very high-growth area, there’s going to be a massive ES redistricting in a few years when Dunn Loring ES opens, the middle school has a history of churning principals who turned out to be poor performers, and the high school has a number of special programs (IB, Academy) that require additional attention.

Just because some pyramids get ignored doesn’t mean they are “easy” - it just means they get ignored.

There is no rhyme or reason to adding Marshall to Region 5 when it's not near any other schools in the region.

It's just another indication of the incompetence of current FCPS senior leadership. It's staggering how bad they are.

On the other hand, Zuluaga largely ignored Marshall when it was in Region 2, so it's not like the Marshall pyramid hasn't run on auto-pilot before.

It would be sad, though, if Baenig made things more difficult for principals in the Marshall pyramid. Litz has a good reputation and it seemed like maybe Kilmer was on the upswing again after mostly having poor principals for many years (Miller was gone in a heartbeat and before that there were a series of duds).

Why is she getting another high school pyramid (Marshall High) to manage in her region? The worst assistant superintendent by far. Doesn't respond or rude to parents and those who email her. Doesn't do anything about bad principals. And loves to call the police on multiple students and parents.
