Agree. It never amounted to much anyway.

Maybe not for you, but for families counting every penny it matters. You’ve obviously never worked with low income people as I have; for some 25 cents can make the difference between having bus fare to get to work for a day or having to walk many miles. You really lack exposure to people outside your rarified bubble and could use some empathy.

People that are really hard up can get free school supplies.

+1. And free bus rides. But stating that would cut into PP’s hyperbole and drama

Great news! The stores were always so crowded and messy.

Has there been anything in education that Youngkin hasn’t screwed up? He blew the revision of social studies standards, his superintendent left suddenly, they created a flawed tool that left districts short of money, they rolled out a tutoring grant program that both parents and tutors said was a mess…this guy is so incompetent.

Even if you believe that, it means something to know that our representatives understand the day to day stress of the laboring families of Virginia. It's important.

Can’t they change the deadline?

Dollars wise, not a big deal, but doesn’t that cut both ways? The state wouldn’t lose all that much if they gave a tax holiday on supplies?
Also, can they even pretend to give a crap about families?

Youngkin's fault. He should've proposed it in the budget. He's the effin Governor. He's proposing billions in tax cuts for the rich but not for working families? Meanwhile, it was announced this week what we already knew: our schools are severely underfunded.
