Not dim sum but there is Kura sushi which is one of those conveyor belt sushi places that gets good reviews.

The new Bonkers China Burger looks good. Daikaya, the new Japanese food hall at 3rd & Mass, and Momoyama look good. I like the dim sum at Da Hong Pao, and the Szechuan dishes at Panda Gourmet (not in Chinatown)

No dim sum, but I used to like Full Kee on H Street but haven't been back since covid took my office remote. Has anyone been recently?

My family liked the dumplings at Reren Lamen & Bar. I thought they were a little pricy but tasty.

A lot of places have closed in the last couple of years, but I wouldn’t explain the area as a tourist trap either. But there haven’t been many or any good Chinese restaurants there in a long while.

There are some decent restaurants there.

Clyde’s is a chain but I think is pretty decent. Zaytinya
The Smith is decent

I have eaten at Reren and Farmers and Distillers and both were ok, but it was before Covid.

Last time I was in Chinatown I was shocked at how shabby and run down it has become. Sad.

Thanks. This is OP. I’m familiar with the area and live in Rockville so know all of the options there. I am going to be in Chinatown for an event and was wondering if there are any half decent restaurants. My suspicion is that they are all below average tourist traps.

Is there still a Chinatown? I'd largely forgotten it exists. Best Asian food is in the suburbs, whether Chinese or Vietnamese etc.

What about the Chinese restaurants on Rockville Pike?

Not in DC, just across the Potomac in Rosslyn, but China Garden's Sunday dim sum is great.

I will be in Chinatown in DC in a couple of weeks and was wondering if there are any good dim sum restaurants in that area? Looking specifically for Chinatown. Thank you.
