Another vote for development! So long as they aren't building something tall there that would change the neighborhood feel, I would love have a place to shop much closer to my house.

I live near by and I really miss it. It's so frustrating that a few people hack c*ck blocked this whole thing. Get over yourselves.

The people who ran the Wesley Heights-Spring Valley group moved to Florida like 7 years ago.

I looked over the link above. The person leading the charge for the the Responsible Development group and the one individual listed on the lawsuit are both on the mid 70s to 80s, so it’s unlikely they are aware of DCUM! I wish there was a way the other neighbors could speak with them about this.

One of the other groups isn’t even AU Park people, but rather the Wesley Heights-Spring Valley neighborhood group.

It’s incredibly frustrating that development is being stopped by people who don’t now or won’t be living here in 10-15years.

To the NIMBYs, why is a boarded up and graffiti-covered lot/building better than a new supermarket? I'll take one of those pro-development lawn signs, PP. This is ridiculous.

It is getting close, in time, to the 15 year Cleveland Park Giant NIMBY battle.

There are 3 “groups” and one person opposing it and they are being represented by the same lawyer. There is no indication on who makes up the groups, but the one neighbor is 81 years old.

I’m going to start putting signs up for all the neighbors who DO want a development. Can we file litigation against the neighbors who prefer an empty building? This is ridiculous

Your ANC may know, and you may be able to check the DC court records. According to this February thread on Popville the litigation to block the development (which was filed by neighbors) is still pending, but Plum Market was also listing it as a forthcoming location. Apparently Mom's Organic Market pulled out due to the neighbors' litigation/ opposition (they're supposed to be opening in Van Ness soon).

Is anything happening with this site? Is there a way to find out?
