I think I tried one packaged brand and thought it tasted bad. Rather than throwing good money after bad I just decided to stick to broth and stock.

My grandma’s homemade “bone broth,” or just “broth” as normal people called it, was amazing and I wish I knew what exactly she used. (I’ve got the basics of it, I just wasn’t paying attention in my teens to peppercorns? or not, how much celery, how much carrot, etc).

It's easy to make in a crock pot pot, too.

I buy the chicken bone broth from Trader Joe's, and cook with it all the time. I use it to make cous cous, rice, rice pilaf, chicken "soup", etc. Basically anything that would normally have a water base.

Not pasta, because you strain that.

Yes this is why I drink it. Protein drinks hurt my stomach since it’s usually whey protein or pea protein. A small container of bone broth has 10g of protein and won’t hurt my stomach. Good for collagen too like you say.

I don’t. I’m not much of a cook and employ short cuts all the time.

OP -- bone broth is just soup. You will not notice health benefits from it. It is a marketing term for chicken or beef stock.

Has anyone tried it? If so, do you like it and have you seen any health benefits? If so, what brand?
