All true but to add to that it messes with your metabolism. Your body basically stops metabolizing food calories while you're drinking and prioritizes the alcohol and tries to metabolize it instead. If you're only having the occasional 1-2 drinks here and there (and drinking lots of water) then it probably won't have any effect on your weight one way or the other. But if you're doing it all the time and then eating crap then cutting that out will make a big difference.
For sure. I’m the poster you quoted. I lost a massive amount of weight (like 80-100 pounds). But I was also drinking a metric ton of high test beer, high stress job, very poor eating habits, essentially no real sleep.
Dropping hooch only leads to big loss as you suggest if it’s a massive signal. And, a lot of people replace that sugar with non alcohol sugar.
