One night in Baltimore is fine. Fells is charming. My favorite place for crab/shrimp is LP Steamers, although that's across the water in Locust Point but an easy uber drive.

The inner-inner harbor is indeed shabby and slated for redevelopment but Harbor East to Fells and Canton is pleasant and just fine.

I would just go to a nice place in DC.

There are only a few nice and well located hotels. They’re generally in harbor East and fells point. It’s raining so crabs are probably tough, but Thames street oyster house in fells has fantastic seafood

Four Seasons is on the water and really nice and probably really expensive. Canopy by Hilton is also on the water and probably half the price. Ditto for the Marriott- tall hotel and I’m sure upper floors have great views.

Disagree with above posters. I did a mini vacation to Bmore waterfront a few months ago and had a great time. Stayed at the Inn at Henderson’s Wharf, great mid range hotel with waterfront rooms. The Pendry is even nicer (private terrace/balcony and rooftop pool) but is more $$. I had friends who stayed at the Pendry and loved it. If you’re a city person I’d recommend Bmore, if you’re looking for “cute town” then Annapolis may be better.

+1 to Annapolis. Then you can take 301 home.

There are some other threads on this, but if it’s just you and your spouse/partner, I’d pick somewhere else unless you want to stay somewhere nice like the Pendry or Four Seasons in Fells Point. The Harbor has become pretty seedy IMO.

Driving back from dropping our kids off at camp in Pennsylvania. Thinking of breaking up trip home to Richmond by staying the night In Baltimore. Where would you recommend for seeing the water, eating crabs, interesting things to see? Is the inner harbor safe? Nice?
