This. We’ve had amazing Thanksgiving meals where we had it catered from places like Whole Foods or Wegmans. We pick the sides we want and then add a couple of family favorites. Easy peasy.

It might be easy, but WF Thanksgiving is definitely not "amazing." Haven't tried Wegman's, but I'd view that with some skepticism.

Wegmans is definitely better than WF. Don’t think it’s “amazing” either, but one of the best grocery store Thanksgiving meals.

I’ve had Thanksgiving catered for the last two years, and it’s amazing. I have them do the turkey, gravy, a vegetarian entree, and some apps, and then we do a few traditional sides ourselves. I pick up the evening beforehand. They can accommodate dietary restrictions too. Highly recommend.

(Not in DMV, but if I were, I’d have no problem using Wegmans for this kind of thing)

You could get a caterer or a personal chef to prepare and deliver the meal the day before for you to heat up. What area is she in, maybe we can recommend specific vendors?

This definitely exists, though I’m not sure about a holiday like thanksgiving. I think any chef would be open to it for the right price.

We have used Cozymeal to develop some relationships with chefs we like, who come to your home and cook. Maybe start there?

Of course - caterers do this all the time! Book early.

An aging parent in our family would like to continue the tradition of hosting Thanksgiving, but is no longer up to the task physically. Having other family members cook in her kitchen or bring main dishes for the meal pot luck style would add stress. She is open to the idea of hiring a professional to handle the meal preparation. Does such a service exist? Can we hire some sort of in home chef that will prepare the meal on site?
