Book a visit for advice on managing pre-diabetes. The dr will decide if Ozempic is appropriate. Some want you to give lifestyle changes a good try before going to medication.

A physical is not for new problems or new medications. You need a separate problem based visit for prediabetes.

No kidding but you dont ASK for a specific medicine. You ask to be seen if you are not well.

OP fwiw, if you’re breastfeeding they’re probably going to tell you to wait. And as far as blood sugar goes, an a1c covers 2-3 months so if it was from your 6 week post partum visit, it might still be reflecting the GD.

That said I’m not one of these judgemental harpies and it’s totally unfair for society to constantly demand that women lose weight and then jump on them for not doing it with enough suffering.

Ozempic aside, you should consider one medical. It’s easy to get an appointment with my pcp or someone else.

+1 exactly what I was thinking. This is just a cover to help PP lose weight. Pre diabetics die to gestational diabetes don’t need Ozempic. Work on diet and exercise.

This is a sick visit not an annual visit. Just cause you're not sick with a cold/infection doesn't mean you don't need a relatively soon appointment to help you treat your diabetes. You're not getting a physical.

Yeah if you are prediabetic and especially in this vulnerable post partum state totally book a sick visit. Make the reason diabetes and get scheduled!

Calling today to get my annual physical visit was brutal, the person on the other end of the phone sounded like she wanted to come to my house and light it on fire for me daring to call to see if there was anything sooner than July 2024 for an annual physical with a NP/PA.
