I don't remember the two AP English classes/tests being substantially different. Just nonfiction vs fiction.

Nicely done! Please celebrate her accomplishment with a special dinner (at home is fine).

Yeah! Well done, OP's kid. If she wants to do the AP Lit next year, bear in mind it requires entirely different skills, and the questions are more open-ended. DS had a 5 in AP Lang, but didn't feel secure enough in his Lit class to attempt the AP exam for it.

Good for her.

I would suggest that you (and her) keep in mind that kids and young adults progress at differing rates and times, and that often progress occurs when kids are older - out of high school.

So I’ll do it here anonymously.

My daughter is a great kid, and a good student. Absolutely positively not top college material, and we are all ok with that - she will be fine wherever she goes. Not a great test taker - eh scores on her PSAT and ACT.

But today she found out she got a 5 on her AP language and comp exam!

This really just made my heart sing. She is over the moon. I’m so proud!
