You seem fine. They are talking about the ones who keep starting multiple threads questioning every minute detail of their child's schooling.

Wait till you meet them in person. Even scarier!

Huh? Blair parent here. Nothing scary about me. The program and peer group are great. Parents need to chill as the kids are stressed anyway. Just keep your distance. Intervene only when needed. Your kids know what they are doing - or not and they'll figure it out.

They are in high school. Parents shouldn't have inputs or be thinking about their binders. We sure didn't

Can they use desmos on the standardized testing that allows calculators?

I’m the pp you quoted. My kid has only ever taken the map-m, so I’m not familiar with the rules for the other standardized math tests you might be thinking of. But the expensive calculator we bought did nothing but gather dust all the way through algebra I, geometry, and algebra II.

What does your child use?

My kid just had a multiple subject notebook that had folders on the inside.
Much of the work was done on the chromebook/laptop.

OMG, I hope he's not in the secret, super-honors Alg 2. I didn't want him in honors Alg 2 to begin with and then all of the Alg 2 turned into Honors. Ugh.

Uh - how will I know if he's in the super-honors class? I assume no, since he's not a math super star.

Parent of rising 9th grader at Blair...

1) Do kids use those giant binders that everyone at TPMS uses or is there a different preferred method for keeping papers/notes somewhat organized?

2) What calculator are Algebra 2 students required/encouraged to have?

Thanks!
