So, this list isn’t accurate?

Aren't AP exam schedules standard? Though, I guess you wouldn't need to list one if it isn't actually offered.

I mean, I don't think Wakefield even offers Italian or Chinese....

Oh hmm. I don't know then. I don't see why you would offer an exam for classes not at the school. But maybe you are right.

From what I can tell, none of the APS high schools offer Italian… but you can take Chinese either in person or as a “blended” course, apparently.

Hmm ok maybe they just list the overall list. Wakefield's website also says they offer 30 of the 38 AP classes offered, but I don't know when that was last updated. It seems kind of "funny" that this information isn't easily searchable. I get that classes could vary each year but it seems like it should be relatively easy to see a generic list of usual offerings. I think Wakefield now offers AP African American Studies, which isn't' on the list (but I think that is a new addition)

You are correct about African American studies. Wakefield is the APS HS that offers the AP Network/AP Capstone & really encourages kids to take AP classes (including those who might not automatically think of taking them), so I would expect them to offer a lot of AP courses. It would be nice if the info were easier to find, though.

All of those basics are consistently offered at Wakefield (though I don't know for sure about computer science?). The other schools likely do have a wider range of offerings; but Wakefield students do have access to those you cited. In fact, Wakefield freshmen have access to AP World History whereas freshmen do not take any AP classes, as I understand it. One of my kids took AP World as a freshman at Wakefield and it serves students very well. An excellent teacher who conducts the class in a way to really introduce students to AP coursework, preparing them well early in their high school career for any classes they take - not just AP.

The atmospheres at the different schools are very different. I do think Wakefield is much lighter on the homework/caseload side and could stand to be a bit more rigorous overall. However, there is a lot to be said for what is a much less-intense, lower-anxiety, less-stressed-out environment than what you find at WL and the overwhelmingly highly wealthy environment of YHS. Great people at all three schools. PIA people at all three schools.
