I’m not a 26 parent but the CLC Blue team is ranked fairly high for this class. The club may move a player or two down to Orange, but the club is aware making any changes bigger than this, meaning letting players go, may negatively impact their recruiting experience. I’d be surprised is there is much movement beyond a player or two being moved down to Orange. Conversely, you may see a player or two from Orange move up to Blue. Additions beyond this would probably be the result of Blue and Orange players opting to not play lacrosse after this season.

Why tryout for the 26 teams if the roster isn’t going to have any movement? Did the 26 teams have success this summer? I found results for about 4 game from this summer.

Does anyone know why Capital hasn’t updated their website with rosters this entire year? It would be helpful to poke around to know how many spots may be available and get a sense of what MS clubs have had recent success.

I know that wouldn’t be totally predictive but it might make the difference on which team my daughter chooses to tryout for.

If the tryouts aren’t synced up a certain way a girl might have to make a decision on one club before hearing from (or even having the chance to try out for) another. So that factors in also.

Posters on other threads have been pointing out that this year some 2027 players on a certain team might be trying out and good enough to make M&D, Heros, etc. and so a few trying out for Capital who are really amazing might actually turn down a Capital offer. Maybe it would be closer for some girls or whatever, they are great team also. So this is where a waitlist of sorts might be relevant this year.

The pre-tryout identification clinics and training sessions are huge. But the PP is correct, if you aren't on one of the teams after the freshman team is fielded there is very little movement on, off or between for the next two cycles. Occasionally someone will move to the area but again this is rare and typically pre-cooked.

Very rarely blue gets turned down. There might be some (a few max) movement after freshman year.

How are offers made after 9th grade tryouts? Do they fill the Blue team first so that if a player turns down an offer they have a waitlist for Blue and then they fill Orange later starting with any Blue waitlisted players? Or do they make offers to fill both teams at once and then move Orange players to Blue if a Blue offer is turned down?

You mean for later years in HS? I would say no without extenuating circumstances ( ie recently moved to the area, were told to try out at a clinic, switched from another sport and started varsity at your HS this past year).

Imho, yes. If nothing else gets her ready for other tryouts.

Did she do any of there “warmups?”

Is it worth it for a player that isn’t already on one of the teams to tryout?
