I HATE it - and it happens, just as OP said, with just a few extra calories per day.
I don't have any hack to deal with this - just, cut out those extra snacks, eat normal meals (no extra bag of chips) and up your exercise for a bit. I will not skip meals, I will not reduce my meals too much - I'm sure I could get back down more quickly if I did either of those. I really just try to do the slow and steady approach - and not to get too cocky once I am back to my regular weight, so I start eating more and putting the pounds - like seriously, three pounds - back on.
My husband, who has struggled with real weight all his life, finds my up three pounds, down three pounds, hilarious.

Yes. It feels really weird. I hate it. Ask other short women you know if they feel the same way. We just carry weight differently.
