This happened to my child and we went to the ortho. They started him on a palate expander and the tooth dropped right into place once it had room to come in. We followed with orthodontic treatment but ymmv.

It may grow in crooked or like vampire fangs (I had those, they’re not the best but very common). If the tooth is there, I wouldn’t worry. They say it can take 6 months for the adult tooth to start coming in, but it’s not uncommon for it to take more like a year. Depends on whether the adult tooth descending pushed it out or other teeth around it did.

My 8 yo lost a tooth (the outermost upper incisor) a few months ago that still hasn't grown in. X-rays back in May showed that the adult tooth is there, but now I've noticed that the baby teeth are shifting closer to the permanent incisors that are in to the extent that I'm not sure there is even going to be room for the adult tooth to erupt. I have honestly forgotten what the dentist said was the next step if it didn't grow in on its own. Anyone know what happens from here or what the time frame is for going back to the dentist?
