I like this one better. It actually retains most of its charm. It looks like a house that real people are living in, not the presidential suite at the Intercontinental.

+1 I've seen some gloriously restored brownstones- functional for today's family but the beauty and details of yesteryear are still in tact (I sound like a real estate agent, lol). This is not that at all.

Agreed. All the drawbacks of an old house (that living room is NARROW) and none of the charm.

The outdoor spaces are amazing but the rest...meh.

The photos are surprisingly bad for that price.

Exactly what I was going to say. The views are spectacular, but the interior looks like a hotel. I know they were going for “spare & modern” but it’s just featureless.

Also agree that, for $14 million, they should have done a better job with the stone in the kitchen.

I know someone who lives in a 3M row house in Brooklyn and has to dodge rats on her way home from work. Nope!

+1, I was ready to gush and adore it, but I'm bored. You are paying for square footage and location. I'm sure an amazing designer could really make it sing, but it's hard to even know what the vision would be. It doesn't get great light and the whole thing is so boxy with no apparent flow. For $14m, I'm expecting some beautiful original detail (or carefully reconstructed), high ceilings, large windows, something. It would look better with at least a little personality in the furnishings and decor, but I'm struggling to understand what, other than the size/location, is so appealing here.

Wow! Two small critiques - I hate the mirror over the fireplace in the living room. And for $14m, they should have bookmatched the granite/marble backsplash. Otherwise, it's awesome. Now if I only had $14m...

Fancy! I don’t get why I would want this for my $14m, but it is big and fancy.

We're looking in the general area (with a much much smaller budget) and I thought it would be fun to search High to Low just to see what's out there. I think I may have fallen in love... if I win the lottery, I want this house. The only downside is that there is no private access to a bathroom for one of the bedrooms on the fourth floor but idk, I think I could overlook that.
