The overall reaction on social media is not positive, so yikes there.

IMO, Seacrest has oversaturated himself. He's built a brilliant brand for sure, but he's also known for never saying no to a gig.

The backlash I'm seeing online reminds me of when Tyra Banks was announced as the replacement for Tom Bergeron. That did not go well for, ABC, did it?

The only part that surprises me is that the job is mind-numbingly boring. I'd think he'd want more profile and or more interesting (and he's got tons going on as it is).

It’s a big paycheck for very little work. They tape a bunch of episodes in one day. Sajak made tons of money while spending most of his time hanging out at his waterfront home and going to Caps game.

This allows Ryan to earn big bucks while scaling back. It also keeps him in the limelight and recognizable.

He shrewdly built a fabulous career/empire. Smart guy.
