I wouldn’t, and I think they would also recommend Sal Suds instead. A drop (like literally a drop) in a bucket. It works great. Put the drop in a cup of water so if you accidentally get two, you can just mix it in and add half the water.

Our flooring company recommended Bruce.

I don’t think Bona and Murphys Oil are similar. I have used Bona with no issues. Weiman is also good.

Yes Murphy’s leaves residue. I have not heard that about Bona, but you really only need to use cleaner like Bona occasionally (maybe once a month?). Use water the rest of the time to avoid buildup.

I have used Bona for years but I’m trying to get rid of footprints read some floor cleaners can make the problem worse. Does anyone use vinegar and water to wash wood floors and not degrade the finish?

I like the powdered tide thing, which I think we’ve all only been doing since that go clean go account. But in my experience that’s at least 2x too much tide.

I use a Spin mop and 2tsp. of powdered Tide detergent mixed in a gallon of hot water. For quick cleanups, I have a Rubbermaid spray mop and I put Bruce hardwood floor cleaner in it. Over 12 years of this and no issues whatsoever.

Just finished our renovation and want to be sure we are taking good care of our new hardwood floors. I have heard not to use cleaners like Bona and Murphy's Oil as they leave a residue and are not good for the floors. What do others use every few weeks to keep their floors clean and in good shape? Just water? Would appreciate any recommendations!
