If you think she can make the A team on Pride or Stars than moving this year is fine. If you think she will make the B team just stay at your current club if she is happy there and let her develop more.

First, talk to your daughter about what she wants out of lacrosse. If she enjoys the team she is on and the level of play you should take this into consideration.

If she is one of the better players on her current team, needs to be challenged more, and play better competition you should consider a move.

If the latter is her path I would suggest trying out for a better club in 6/7th grade.

And part of NL problem is the invites as mentioned before. They don't get the invites to tournaments like LFTC because it goes to returning clubs and more established clubs in general so it's hard to break into that mold unless you area well-connected person that starts a club which is rare.

I believe there is a point rating system the coaches use and assigns to their teams, so the teams play others at the same/similar level. If your director continues to place your team in a bracket where they lose easily this will eventually work against the team. The tournaments want competitive brackets and will bump teams down that cannot compete in a bracket. The goal is to play in the highest bracket your team can and make sure the team is competitive. Winning and losing is not something college coaches care about. Just make sure the team is competitive and playing in higher brackets.

Your club director selects the tournaments and recommends what bracket age group teams should play in. Tournaments may not always place teams in those brackets. Also, clubs need to be invited to play in some tournaments which involve the higher ranked teams. Playing in 3-4 tournaments is typical for most clubs.
