What exactly are you asking?

I am a DINK. Where it's relevant to the conversation, I ask if my input is welcome. I won't for example say I am if I am chatting about what shoes I am buying for fall, but if I am chatting about family or friend dynamics where this is relevant, I want to be sure the OP wants to hear from me, and adult with no kids and a mom, as opposed to a mom of a daughter with no kidsl

What? Seriously do not understand what you are talking about.
Look, pot is only legal starting today, but I think you got a head start, or you are on the wrong thread.

It made sense to me. Op has addressed the question to parents who are not grandparents. PP is asking if she would like to hear from the child's perspective. Instead of saying yes or no, people jump to an insult. Which, ironically, probably tells us everything we need to know.

I mean, it seems that's all who is answering, right? No rules here.

I'm 48 with no kids. Brother is 52 with four kids.
I'm much closer to our parents, despite living further away. We talk a few times a week. My parents try to see their grandchildren more often but my brother and SIL can be difficult. They barely communicate with my parents except about the kids. Kids are now in their teens and have their own phones so my parents keep in touch with them directly. The eldest has his license now and goes to visit my parents with the others.

I feel like most parents completely ignore their kids (after age 22) until they get grandkids. Then they attack them and want nonstop time with them.

Dd is 32, no kids, lives 15 minutes away with her dog and bf. I see her a few times a week, short texts almost daily. Ds and his wife have 4 kids and live 10 minutes away. We see them a couple times a week, longer texts and phonecalls a few times a week.

No point, it was a question, not a statement.

Uh, yeah, that is who the question is directed at, right?

Lately not much at all over here. No grandchildren with which to bridge the gap.

One (26) lives about twenty miles away, still in NOVA. Interact 5 out of 7 days - texts, phone call and FaceTime. See them between once a week and every other week.

One (24) lives at home for now. So, we interact multiple times a day. They are currently looking for a permanent full time job. Week three.
