Yes it’s for people who do babymoons and refer to their fetus by their future name the entire pregnancy. “Shelby is the size of a mango”. They call themselves preggo and their children kiddos.

Babymoons, push presents, weddings that go on for days. All about social media and the incredible narcissism of our society

The image of a line of people with gifts waiting for the push is kinda hilarious. Are we talking just head, the entire baby, or the placenta as well?

I’m convinced the term was made up to make fun of women. Women have been getting gifts to commemorate births for hundreds of years. Dh and I don’t give birthday or Christmas presents but I did get very nice gifts when my kids were born. They’re very special to me.

The gift isn’t bad - it’s a nice way to commemorate the occasion - the term is one of the worst in modern American culture, which is really saying something.

I bought my wife something nice that will eventually be inherited by our daughter.

The term that shall not be named was never brought up.

Baby gifts are literally an ancient tradition. Push present is just a misogynistic rebranding. And the misogynistic effect worked on you.

No you are not alone - it's a more recent trashy term that only low-class bumpkins use.

It's grotesque and only people who do gender reveals and name their daughter Raygun do this. Ignore.
