2121 K Street monthly space is $295 per spot hero, only a couple blocks away, get a month and then park daily or metro for the last week after construction is done. It will also be costly to park and metro in together.

Can you park at the airport? It's 20 min on metro from the airport to GWU. Or pick her up and drop her off at the airport?

It sucks commuting into DC. Let her experience taking a metro shuttle to a busy station and arriving to work 1.5 hours later. She may end up striving to do better in NYC finance or SF tech.

+1 All the orange/silver line trains and destination for Ballston at the moment. But the metro buses are easy and if there’s an express it won’t take longer than your driving her (and will be considerably less expense than parking). Also driving and parking around GW is brutal; I would never do it. If you don’t want her on the bus at least park in Falls Church or Rosslyn and metro from there.

The express bus from Vienna or the McLean stations is workable until the stations reopen. If you feel more comfortable accompanying her, at least at first you could continue on downtown and go to museums, shop, etc.

I commute from Vienna, VA to Foggy Bottom several times a week. While the Metro's down for the outer stations on the Orange Line, there's an express bus from the Vienna metro station to Rosslyn that runs continually throughout the day -- lots of professionals on it. So drop her off at the Vienna metro, she takes the express bus to Rosslyn, and then takes the Metro one stop to Foggy Bottom. Easy. My 15 year old daughter took the express bus from Vienna to Rosslyn and then then Metro to Smithsonian just the other day.

It’s expensive. Period.

My teen daughter has an internship she needs to go for 5 weeks starting Monday to GWU. It seems close to Foggy Bottom metro but the metros from Vienna (we are in Fairfax) are closed for a few weeks now.
What is the best option that can let her spend less time on travel? I plan to go along with her in either option as am not comfortable yet sending her alone. I drove around last week and the drive due to holiday time was a bit crazy and saw there is a library close by that I can sit in for the few hours she will be on the internship and then pick her back. Parking seems expensive, metros closed and so reaching out if any of you are aware of better options from experience. Is there any nearest library or any place in DC or nearby city like Alexandria or Arlington that may have free parking? Please advise. Uber seems expensive too as such
