I'm lucky. I WFH and slow at this time of year, so I am able to put in 8-12K steps every day, mostly with the dog, then errands. I'm also being much more conscious of what I'm eating - cutting out a lot of snacking, flipping to some plant-based meals, etc. That said, I haven't eliminated alcohol and still consume some sugar, just not as much.
As I think I posted, these first 12 pounds were not so hard, but the next group will be a lot more challenging.
Also, I try to just put in steps at home, getting up and walking to another room the moment I think about something I need there.
Once I started shedding, it also helped me to not think about the troubles elsewhere in my life and just focus on the goals.
