Lincoln in the Bardo is like this. It was a really neat listen, but I had to read along to the actual book in order to understand who was talking.

It’s what old timey radio shows did. Not sure it’s for me, but funny that they’re taking a page from the earliest days of radio.

OP here. I'm just not sure I'll be able to follow the storyline, if that makes sense. It might feel like "listening" to a play instead of seeing and hearing the performance.

The Christina Applegate story was very well done. She is incredible as a narrator.

I have listened to a bunch and have not been impressed at all. Usually the narration is okay at best and the stories are terrible.

BBC Radio did this back in the day and the recordings can sometimes be found on Libby. I hate them. It’s an adaption and not a reading of the book.

I have listened to a few and they are good! I can’t recall the titles now, but they are well produced and entertaining.

I had about six Audible credits. I tried one of the Audible original "books" that are more like recorded plays with characters performed by recognizable actors and actresses, like Christina Applegate, Kate McKinnon, Neil Patrick Harris, and others.

Has anyone listened to them?

I'm not sure if I will enjoy "listening" to a book read aloud with different characters, but seems like an interesting idea.

I started with Murder in Bermuda Audible Audiobook – Original recording an Audio Thriller by James Patterson (Author). Brilliant, silver-tongued Beth Heller (Mary-Louise Parker) is a lawyer with one client: her family's criminal empire.
