We have always enjoyed laser tag- have used ultrazone in Arlington/falls church. At that age I go early, but passes but not the “party deal” adults play too if they want. Even if younger kids play they are still targets. I’ve opted for pizza at my house or another location after a few back to back games.

We're in Bethesda and had a great experience at Castle Laser Tag - you can bring your own food, including ice cream cake which was a big it.

Have been to many parties there. DS liked it better than Shadowland.

The only thing with this is that you can be grouped with people not from your group, which can kind of stink.

And it stinks even more if your DS wants to do something more "grown up" and gets grouped with 8 year olds.

I'm the PP that recommended paintball instead, and you should really consider it. They will have the time of their lives, especially being led around the fields by a teenager, and will def won't feel little kiddy

It's probably a little bit of a hike from Chevy Chase, but Paintball Sportland does a great job with MS bday parties.

Another vote for castle laser tag in Gaithersburg. They also have some arcade games, which is nice while you’re waiting for guests to arrive and as everyone is leaving.

Plus one to castle. They are right off the highway so easy to get to.

This is a ridiculous comment. My kids and all his friends pretty much only have laser tag birthdays at this age. He has been to a million. Anyway, OP i am not in MD but just wanted to say that laser tag birthdays are completely normal. I think there is Castle Laser Tag in Gaithersburg.
