We have a large in ground pool that needs remodeling - but we priced that out and it’s over 125k. So we decided to keep the shape and just replaster and tile for 30k. I wanted to completely remove pool but rest of family wants it.

We didn’t remodel but just built one. My favorite features:

Baja shelf with place for umbrella
Spa with spillover ledge
Heater
Lights
Water feature wall
Pebble tech lining
Travertine hardscaping

We spent a small fortune but live in an area where you can use the pool 365 days a year if you have a heater.

I have an in-ground cement saltwater pool. It's about 35 years old and the surfaces are showing their age. I'd like to get it replastered as part of a future project that also redoes the pool deck and coping.

But now I'm thinking ... the stairs are in a weird place, we could add some in a better place. Maybe we want to add heat and lights. In my ideal world the pool would be a rectangle instead of free-form, the better to cover it.

Have you done major work to your pool? Was it worth it? What features do you love?
