Now I'm curious (DC may or may not be heading to JR in a couple of years) and looked on the website to find the list of classes too and can't find it either. The links listed above do NOT lead to any list of classes.

This is a ridiculous reply. Public school is for all and overcrowding doesn’t mean the school can do a bad job to discourage attendance. A list of classes isn’t marketing. It is information.

Jackson Reed is operating well over capacity. Every dollar spent on marketing exacerbates the problem, harming the students who attend. If you’re on the fence, please go elsewhere.

Under the students tab on the school website is a page for each class that lays out the course selection options for each grade. If you had a student at JR you would already have the relevant information. If you aren’t a current parent, then please, do us all a favor and read all of the information that is already available on the school website before you start complaining about the lack of transparency. Everything you are looking for (and more) is there.

I get that this information may not be in the exact preferred format you want it in, but this information is being pulled together for current families who need it - not for the general public.

This is not helpful, it doesn't say which year you typically sign up for what, so there is no sense of sequencing, pathways, options, etc.

I work for DCPS and unfortunately they refuse to learn from districts that do some things better than we do. DCPS is an insular culture which creates a huge barrier to improvement

Every MCPS has this -- these are the materials they have already produced for kids to register; they are just making them public. DCPS could easily do this, presuming they already had to give these materials to students in the winter/spring to enable them to register for the fall.

What does it mean it is "being worked on." By when? Why would it not already exist for a large urban HS?

Not currently but it is being worked on.

There is a form for each rising 9th, 10, 11, 12 and the courses offered. And so by looking at each you have a sense of availability, option, and sequencing.
