Sometimes people text when THEY are working off hours but don’t expect you to respond until you are working your normal hours. Ignore until you’re back on the clock.

Neither are urgent. My question is, do people that do things like this expect an immediate response?

One seemed like an FYI and no response needed. The other definitely wanted a response.

I'm guessing no. This is why I prefer email over text for work. I don't worry it's going to beep and bother someone -- they will read it when they like.

One is easy, one is not. The one that isn't I've already answered the question 4 times yesterday. So it's super annoying to answer it again.

So? Ignore them.

Or do something, if you're worried about fallout.
It depends on your particular work situation, doesn't it? We can help you here.

My kid's music teacher has a full day of lessons planned for today, despite also celebrating Father's Day with his family. He likes teaching, he likes the students, we'll all be there wishing him a Happy Father's Day...

If you don't love working on Father's Day, and Sunday to boot, then don't do it.

I don’t get people like you, needing to be constantly at the beck and call of their work and not able to relax and enjoy a day off.

Nope, I did in the past and everyone takes it for granted that they can text st all hours and expect a response. Make sure you want to go there.

For real? Sunday and also Father's Day. Are people expecting me to respond right away? And if not, why text at all?

100% business text messages, not personal.
