Where do you get these tacos?

Taco Bell isn't as cheap as it used to be either.

We make tacos at home a lot, they are a pretty affordable family pleaser in our house. And guacamole doesn't add on another $2.50.

I don't know where you're going that charges $7 for a tiny taco, but have you considered...not going there?

Riverdale Park, Hyattsville, Manassas, Hybla Valley are full of places that will sell you a huge taco for $3.50. You don't even need to leave DC. Super Taco, Pica Taco, Bandit Taco all charge less than $4 for a taco and are perfectly decent tacos. Taqueria Habanero is one of the better tacos in DC and charges $4.

Hell, even Taco Bamba, the whitest of white people tacos only charges $5 for their tacos and they are anything but tiny.

I can only imagine you went to like one bourgie place in Upper NW or Arlington and simply assumed every taco was similarly bad and overpriced.

As much as people make fun of it, I’ve never been there and it hasn’t been busy. Plus it’s probably the only fast food place that’s still cheap even.

Agree, and the tacos are so dry! I don't get the hype. I don't buy them.

It’s just what you are used to - I mean, a taco is probably a 50-60% markup. But most of you are probably happily buying coffees or lattes at 80% markup and not complaining. That 80% markup includes labor cost, btw.

Dry with subpar tortillas and you need like 4-5 to fill you up.

It's cause idiots are overpaying for food trucks. One such food truck charges more than 2x for a sit down restaurant sandwich

It's a tortilla, a tiny bit of low quality meat, and maybe some cilantro, onion and tomato? Taco prices have gotten more out of control than burgers!
