Nah, OP is right. Landscapers should only be able to work on one house a day, and only during the hottest hours of the day.

8 am sounds more than reasonable. yeah, yard machines make noise. not much you can do about that.

I’m surprised by sone of the responses you’ve received so far, OP. I’m a morning person and am always awake by 6:00 AM, but I would still be unpleasantly surprised by neighbors doing loud yard work at 8:00 AM on a Saturday. Since that’s not within the quiet hours for DC, I agree with the PPs that there’s not much you can do, unfortunately. If it were me, I’d do nothing and would save it as a chip the next time they approach you for a favor.

You can't manage your neighbors. They aren't doing anything wrong.

Check regulations where you live, OP. Also, perhaps asking nicely might work, you never know.

This is just part of living around other people. Dogs bark, people use loud landscaping tools, cars with loud engines drive by, kids scream. It is what it is.

Nope. Not if they are violating decibel limits.

And what do you mean, daily?? That’s insane.

I’m not sure how to solve this problem. But you are definitely within rights to be annoyed and try to solve it.

Maybe you should gently approach them and ask them to ask the people to come later and also to talk to them about using quieter equipment that complies with dc law?

I’m sure it’s annoying other neighbors as well.

Decibel limits don't apply for work done during legal work hours. Legal work hours start at 7am on Saturdays.

There’s not really anything you can do about 8am Saturday

Any tips for managing neighbors who hire landscapers to come and wake up neighbors starting at 8am on Saturday’s? They are using tools that far exceed the decibel limits set by DC code (not leaf blowers, it’s some sort of trimming device). I am losing my mind. Anyone have any tips? Neighbors are a very nice older couple who are obsessed with maintaining a perfect yard, apparently. They have workers out here daily.
