Saw some water boots that have holes in them at pet store- maybe those better b/c give some air to the paws while still protecting.

Mushers is more for ice/snow. If it were just hot pavement, you could do booties. But hot sand would be tough with booties, you would go crazy replacing them every so often. Plus dogs can only "sweat" through panting and their paw pads, so covering their paws reduces their ability to manage overheating. Enjoy your dog!

OP here to say Thanks! for all quick replies. Unless you all had said, yes, use this or that and dog can walk on anything hot including the sun, we will not go or only after sun goes down and then only IF our own bare feet can go on sand and it feels cool. Thanks again.

This is good you are thinking about their feet. If its too hot for you, it will hurt them too. I'm not sure if the mushers wax would help though - it is more for clumping of ice in paws, etc. Booties would probably be better. Dogs don't like them unless they learn young but eventually get used to it.

New to dog world and taking dog to hot sand beach. Anyone use mushers dog paw wax or other protection for dog paws on hot pavement? What about for hot sand? The sand where we go is kind that if humans do not have in shoes it will burn feet and skin peels shortly after. Suggestions? Thanks?
