This. Ask your gyn if you want, OP, but mucous membranes are not meant to be washed. They are self-cleaning. You can use a washcloth to wipe the folds, or use clean hands, like a lot of people do. Shower gel, soap, or God forbid special products for that area, are not necessary and can be irritating.
