Or one that is taking new patients.

Hi All,
I was wondering if people had additional recommendations for primary care doctors (or nurse practitioners) in Montgomery County. I tried the ones listed in this old thread and they aren't taking new patient.

I'm looking for someone with a good bedside manner, as I'm sometimes a nervous wreck when visiting the doc.

Do you find that One Medical is more convenient than your old PCP? The annual fee isn't huge and I'll pay it if it means a lot more patience/time with the doctor and easier scheduling. But do you actually find that to be the case?

I found a doctor I liked (based on profile) online but she's with One Medical. I'd hate to pay a fee to join and then not like her...

One Medical isn’t much easier to get in and see my dr but they have so many and they are flexible about video calls that when I want to see someone it’s easy to get in, if I am ok seeing someone else.

I, I'm sure like many others, am not going to share their name, so they don't become over with new patients. Try looking on your insurance homepage, under "find a doctor." There you will find doctors in your insurance network, who are accepting new patients, so that you don't also have to pay annual fees.

They have a nurse advice line, some virtual appointments, a walk-in clinic for sick appointments, and a number of specialists. I’ve been really pleased with my care.

She sounds like a great doctor. Maybe I should switch to her as I’m not happy with my RIMG doctor. But I would never call that practice a well-oiled machine. It takes 3 days minimum to get responses in the portal and often it’s from a medical assistant who misunderstands, which then results in many more days of delay. Hold times are crazy if you try to call and I have not had calls returned after leaving messages. Maybe it’s my doctor but I think it’s the practice as my husband has had issues as well. Unfortunately, they are pretty much the only in-network option for Cigna near me.

I love Fernanda Porto-Carriero at Johns Hopkins Community Physicians. She sees patients across the street from Shady Grove Hospital.

I see Dana too. She is very thoughtful and spends time with you. Dr. Haywood, I think that is the name is also good.

No, I really liked my PCP and I actually followed her to her concierge practice. But then she decided to retire 2 years after that, so I had no choice.

She is not a physician. That is what they asked for.

If you love your general practitioner or internal medicine doctor, please share their name. I need to find a new one.
