It's probably time to divorce. It's easier, and you won't have to continue putting up with his bs. You'll be happier in the long run, trust me.

PhD psychologist ones

Or start w a neuropsych test

Or do a trauma therapist

Are you sure the underlying issue is communication issues and not something else?

I'll save you some money. Let the kids spend more time with grandparents or friends, or if they are teens let them out of the nest more.

That gives you more time with each other. It's not rocket science nor does it need a "therapist" to figure it out.

Yes. PhD and longer experience is the must've basic, after that its on their style of communication and effectiveness.

I don’t know, I would go with the PhD if they have a specialities in couples. That’s five years of training and a lot more supervision. Social worker with a certificate could be highly skilled or not. It’s just a much less selective program.

If you happen to be in the position where you have found 2 therapists who you and your partner are both willing to see and they both have availability, I suggest scheduling appointments with both of them and see who you like better.

Their educational background isn’t as important as their experience, skill set, approach, and ability to build rapport.
