Other than the obvious on Thayer (flatbread pizza is decent there, the indian place is good)
Aleppo Sweets
Louis' (a real "joint" for breakfast)
Knead Donuts (best donuts on the planet, they moved from downtown)
Are you staying in a hotel downtown? It is lousy with great restaurants. Layali and Circe near Hampton inn. Loads of other down there also.
Federal Hill can be good but really is a tourist destination IMHO. The outdoor plaza where music is played is fun.

Breakfast at Amy’s on Wickenden Street or Salted Slate in Wayland Square. For a casual lunch, Flatbread is great and is right near campus.

We ate at Caspian Breakfast and Lunch before our tour last year. It's wasn't far from the visitor parking and was in a very nice neighborhood to walk around.

Lunch on Thayer street. It's practically on campus and would give a good view of campus. I second the suggestion of dinner on Federal Hill.

Pane e Vino on Federal Hill. It’s one of the best Italian restaurants I’ve ever been to and I’ve been all over the world. Humble place, family-owned.
