There is one Mx at my child’s k-5 public school (in an auxiliary role, not a classroom teacher). My kids have never even asked questions. They just call them Mx Smith. No one cares.

I take that back, I’m sure some people cere, and I admit I was a little surprised at first because it is not typical , obviously. But it doesn’t affect anything. No one with common sense truly cares, I should say.

It’s so histrionic and manipulative

I think everyone understands that the people who go by Mx are people, and exist

No doubt the Mx thing makes some kind of sense to them - okay fine - but if it doesn’t make any sense to me, or to others, that’s fine too

Expecting everyone to advertise a gender doesn't make any sense to me. My children aren't in school to date their teachers.

How does it shape the curriculum?

Denying people's existence doesn't make them not exist.

We’ve never heard of “Mx” before reading it here.

I don’t know anyone who does this. None of the teachers at my school where I work. None of my children’s teachers.

2 is probably the highest at the moment.

I'd guess that once there is one trailblazer, others at the school might follow the lead.

I am helping my 6th grader write thank you notes for end of year and 2 of the 9 teachers are Mx.
I was surprised - but my kid does not think twice about it.

Are others seeing a similar trend?
