I doubt that PP is correct.

Plus, with the shared housing form that MCPS provides, it is almost impossible to prove residency fraud. Someone from the school would have to follow the kid home to see where he actually lives (clearly not going to happen).

I meant the magnets or application based schools like Duke Ellington or SWW. I don't know if they are called magnets in DC.

OP if you can do it and get away with it, so be it.

We just moved out of MoCo and are paying renting an area for our kids to attend the strongest local Hs. My DD tells me at least 4 of her friends live in different areas, either with a COSA / parent working in the area or with false addresses

No, no repercussions. It’s pretty common in MCPS. We have dozens of families at our ES/MS who do this.

MCPS even offers a Shared Housing form that is easy to fill out.

MCPS doesn’t have the staff to investigate any of these cases, so plenty of people do it and get away with it.
