I have wide feet so shoes tend to stay on, but it also helps if feet are sweaty or if you use the petal sticky things to keep your feet gripped.

You might have a low volume foot, meaning it's thin vertically. This is my issue as well as high arches. Can't wear loafers, ballet flats, mules, I walk right out of them. I wear boots in the winter and sandals with lots of adjustable straps in the summer.

I don't wear mules for this reason. And I don't like slingbacks either because they always slip down my heel.

Some stay on better than others. When you try them on, really walk fast around the store, or when you put them on at home, and see if they fly off your feet too easily. Don't buy, return as needed.

I wouldn’t wear mules in situations where I was carrying anything heavy or walking a lot quickly, I.e. my commute. I leave them at the offfice

Some people can’t wear mules. You might be one of those people OP. Just pick a different style.

same. they just go flying off my feet. Unless I scuff like I do in Birkenstocks, which isn't ideal for nicer shoes.

You just... walk. From late April until early November I live in some sort of strappy sandal with no strap on the back. Have never walked out of a shoe

I saw some hack where you could stick a bandaid or something on the shoes to get more grip.

I have a flat foot so maybe it’s an anatomical issue for me but I slip out each and every time.

What is the secret? What am I doing wrong? 😭

I’ve scraped the bottom of my foot on concrete pavement more than I’d like to admit all while mid step.
