MCPS school years are 182 days.

Because it is really OK for your beloved offspring to go to school more than the minimum required 180 days. In fact, based on your post, it probably would do them some good.

DP, but you're an idiot. If you had any brains at all, you know kids are checked out by day 170. The extra two days of nonsense are helpful to no one.

So are you suggesting the school calendar be reduced to 170 days? Real education fanatic, aren't you?

No where in the post did it state the school year should be shortened. It was in response to someone being unnecessarily snarky to someone else for no real reason. Reading comprehension helps.

There is only one leftover day, and no, they are not endimg school day early. If you care just keep your kid home next Friday.

I have never understood this debate....you realize that if the year was shortened it would be the same issue just sooner right? And if your kid is so miserable dont send them! If it is so pointless why do you care?

They used one day on Nov. 28th for the power outages, and there was just one unused day remaining.

They have never credited these back.

I don't believe they have ever credited unused snow days back.

They renamed them "covid remediation days".
