Seven years ago, the ACPS comms person (Helen Lloyd - total disaster who is in fairfax now) told me that every school was getting a safety vestibule built. Do any schools have them? I know it wasn't done in our ES school. Our PTA was going to pay for a better screening system too but the then principal kept putting it off saying that ACPS was going to do it...they never did it.

Safety is simply not a priority for ACPS. As new schools are being built is anyone asking about safety features? Did it come up with MacArthur, Minnie Howard? I listened to a lot of the Minnie Howard discussion but I don't recall any specific questions or conversation.

The plans for the giant George Mason are coming this fall. Any GM parents asking about this or the rebuild at all?

8th grade graduation at SSSAS was yesterday morning and the US was in exams. I have a very hard time believing a 7th grader or younger from SSSAS did this.

SSSAS upper school finished exams today. I doubt it was an upper school student. If it was a middle school student, I doubt they were arrested.

They arrested a minor for trespassing but they won't arrest for shoplifting, fights at Bradlee, smoking weed, skipping school, etc?

Don't arrest students who beat the shit out of the same kid three times this year.

Arrest the non-violent trespasser and brag about it.

If truly SSAS - probably wants to go to GWMS with his neighborhood friends but his parents won’t let him because it’s overcrowded and full of violent fights. But he still wants to go nonetheless.

Yup. SSSAS kid I heard. Arrested for trespassing.

Anyone else hear about this? ACPS is of course being silent. Apparently a much older student from another Alexandria City school pretended to be a GWMS student and spent the day wandering the building. He successfully evaded all security from what I heard.
