PP: where did you do residential treatment and would you recommend that particular place or places?

I am not the PP, but I have multiple friends whose kids have gone to Newport Academy's residential programs. Recovery is definitely a process, but they got good support from Newport. I have heard particularly good things about the residential program in CT. The one in VA had only just opened when I moved away, but I was glad there was a more local option for residential.

Not DP but another one who has been down this road. Only once though. I hired an Educational Consultant who specializes in therapeutic placements. We placed her in wilderness therapy for 12 weeks followed by a year at a therapeutic boarding school. Insurance paid zippo. My daughter only recently graduated but has dug deep to do her work so I have hope. We also did our therapeutic work while she was gone.

Good luck! This journey sucks.

DD dealing with deep depression, anxiety and suicidal ideation. 10 weeks into IOP and she's not really any better. TIA.
