The best flavour is a French press. A 32 Oz press uses four scoops.of.coffee. five min brew with good boiling water and it bests any nespresso. Plus a fraction of cost and no fancy filters. If you want to to get extra buy a hand held cream milk frother and froth before pouring into your coffee.

I like the cheap Melitta plastic one or glass Chemex. I don’t do anything special except wet the grinds w/ a little boiled water to let them ‘bloom’ for @30 seconds or so before pouring the rest of the hot water.
Great, now I want coffee.

Yes this is OP I agree the cheap coffee makers that brew quickly make sour coffee. I need just one cup at a time but I could live with a machine that makes 4 cups or so.

Size matters. Do you want to be able to make one cup at a time? Less than 4 cups? A whole pot? Different amounts different days? Ninja has coffee makers that can do both a mug, travel mug, and pot. Hamilton beach has a flex brew that can do a k-cup or coffee grounds - fits both mugs and travel mugs. What you need to avoid is anything that claims super fast brewing. You actually want it to brew longer.

We had a Cuisinart then a Capresso. Now we have a Bunn - it has a metal reservoir and makes excellent (really excellent pour over) fast coffee. No auto-shutoff though.

I am desperate ha ha! I can't continue going to dunkin everyday. I just would like a reliable regular ol' coffeemaker, one I can get from Target, Walmart, dept store, amazon, etc.; need one that isn't so cheap and basic that it make the coffee sour-tasting. Anyone out there have a recommendation.
